Too much snow

I've decided to close shop until April 1st and let the plants recover from the recent spell of bad weather. Hopefully by then they will be looking a little more cheerful and ready to be sent out into the big wide world.

I was really chuffed to have sold my first set of Semp greeting cards! Hopefully they will appeal to anyone and not just Semp fanatics like myself!

My thanks go to Rob for looking after Semps by Post for the last year while I was busy looking after my Mum. It's good to be back and I'm looking forward to bringing you lots of new varieties during the coming year.

Rob started this blog so I feel I ought to carry on with it, even though I've never blogged in my life!

I have designed some Sempervivum cards  which I've just put in the webstore and added some bigger and smaller collections.

I'd love to know if anyone actually reads this blog, so comments would be very welcome!

Semps Alive Update

Posted by sempervivum on July 21, 2011 at 5:57 AM Comments comments (0)

Well it's two weeks on since I received the box back from Royal Mail with the poor little semps that had been in there for 2 months.

5 of the plants have definitely made it - another 5 look promising and 2 have gone to the great rockery in the sky.

Alive Forever?

If anyone ever doubted why these plants are called sempervivum (Latin for alive forever) then here is your proof!

Unfortunately one of our customers gave us an incorrect address and his order went missing - only to be returned 2 months later...

I opened the box with some trepidation, but was elated to find that there was hope - with some TLC and some sunshine, I think most of them will make it.

Semps Outside!

Posted by sempervivum on May 3, 2011 at 2:38 PM Comments comments (0)

Much of the plug collection has been soaking it up outside in the glorious spring sunshine for the last three or four weeks.

The plants have responded very well and many of them have taken on richer colours, especially the reds.

In the time being the website is up to date and most orders are now going out in nice smart fold up boxes.

With all the lovely colours springing through I have taken some new pictures of the 12 and 20 collections.

Check them out in the webstore.

We have a new collection which is specially designed as a gift. It comes in a top opening box with a glowing sheet of gold paper - they do look quite yummy!

Plugging and Potting

Posted by sempervivum on March 20, 2011 at 9:01 AM Comments comments (0)

We've been doing lots of replugging and potting over the last few weeks which means many of the varieties are temporarily unavailable until they have put down their roots again.

In the time being the plants are looking fabulous and we're planning a very special Mother's Day collection - watch this space!
